A peek into our room!

This week was no exception -- we were busily working our way through the week! Here is a snapshot of a few other activities we did:

Throughout our last math unit about area and perimeter, students engaged in a zoo project where the creatively planned out space to include different animals and other items found in a zoo (i.e. park, restaurants, bathrooms, etc.).  We wrapped up the unit today by presenting in small groups.  With a planning sheet, small groups allowed for their skills to really shine through! It was a great where for them each to share their math skills about area and perimeter, their creative additions, and fun ideas they gathered through the project.

Mrs. March, a former YES teacher, came to read to us this week to celebrate Read Across America.  She has a beautiful way of capturing her audience as she shares her love of books.  We are excited to invite her back in the future!
