Today is math, I was so pleased with ALL of the great math talk around a task students completed in groups. Here was the problem:
When they reported out at the end and we reflected, students noticed they did at least 6 out of the 8 mathematical practices. They had very engaged, focused conversations. As I was floating around helping groups, I heard things such as, "How about..." "Okay guys, what if..." "Oh, nice idea!" "What if we changed the pattern?" Kids also used representations and mathematical tools to help them with the work. Such great job today from these mathematicians!
