Meet Mrs. Fier

I grew up right here in Maine and attended the University of New England with a double major in Elementary Education and Psychology. After graduation, my plan was to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. I began a PsyD in Arizona at Midwestern University. The year in my new program was spent learning a lot about children and development; however, it also showed me that I really wanted to be back in the classroom, teaching!

I ventured back to Maine and found myself at Yarmouth Elementary where I was offered a one year position as a third grade teacher. During this successful year at Yarmouth (as Miss North), I met my husband out in Colorado while on vacation.  His work led me that way and just over two years ago we had a beautiful garden wedding just west of Denver.  Meanwhile, I also spent two years teaching in Colorado as a fourth grade teacher and a fifth grade teacher.  BUT, when I heard there was a position open at YES, I knew we had to find our way back to Maine and bring our border collie mix, Porter, and cat, Chloe, with us!  I am so happy to be back in this wonderful community and school full of educators who truly care about children!
