When it is your child's birthday, we like to have "food free" celebrations! Your child may bring in some music for a fun dance party, a video of a special/funny life event, or a musical instrument for a performance (or any other kind of performance), or something as simple as a poster full of pictures to share. This gives the chance for the children to get to know each other better, rather than simply eating a sugary treat. Kids can also choose a whole class game to play, such as seven up or four corners! If your child has a summer birthday, I like to celebrate "half birthdays," so for example, a July 6 birthday would be celebrated January 6.
We can't wait to see how your child decides to celebrate her/his special day!
